That first appointment is often a sort of meet and greet. Your groomer will take a few minutes to get to know Fido and assess his coat condition and grooming needs. That first appointment may involve some extras, such as paperwork and questions from both sides.
Be Clear
Doggy beauty regimes are definitely not one-size-fits-all. Some pooches only need occasional baths, while others need to come in every month. If Fido has short, sleek fur, you won’t need to pick a haircut, but fluffy pups may have options. Be clear about what you’re looking for, but also take time to listen to suggestions.
Book Extra Time

Unless Fido is in desperate need of a glow-up, keep that first appointment to a simple bath and blow-out, and perhaps a nail trim. This is especially helpful if you have a puppy. You want to get little Fido used to the experience. Easing him into it may make it less stressful for the little guy.
