Wellness & Vaccinations
Many well-intentioned pet owners make the mistake of believing that they only need to bring their pet in to see the vet when they’re sick or injured. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, the single most important thing you can do for your animal companion is to make a lifelong commitment to ongoing wellness care so that instead of treating an illness once it’s developed, we can help to prevent that illness from occurring in the first place. Routine wellness care can add years to your pet’s life, and vastly improve the quality of those years.
Quail Pointe Veterinary Hospital offers complete wellness services to support our patients through every life stage, from routine vaccinations and parasite control for puppies and kittens to health screenings, nutrition and weight management for adult and senior dogs and cats. We want to work with you to help your pet enjoy as many happy, healthy years as possible. We know that each pet is special, and we tailor our approach to meet the unique needs of each patient we serve. That way you’ll know your pet is receiving the most effective care possible.
Wellness visits at Quail Pointe begin with a thorough physical examination, during which the vet will check your pet’s eyes, ears, nose, mouth, skin and coat, looking for anything out of the ordinary. We’ll also listen to your pet’s heart and lungs to ensure that they are functioning properly. We may order certain diagnostic tests to further assess your companion’s health, and we’ll make recommendations on such important topics as vaccinations, parasite control, nutrition and weight management, behavior and more. There will also be plenty of time for you to ask questions and bring up any concerns you may have about your pet so that we may discuss them further with you.
One of the biggest benefits of wellness care is that these routine visits provide our experienced doctors with the opportunity to identify potential medical concerns so they can be addressed right away. In many cases, we are able to pinpoint disease in its earliest stages, which can greatly improve the outcome for your pet. Disease prevention and early detection is also a much more cost effective approach for you, since addressing illness early on is much less expensive than treating it once it’s progressed.
Lastly, though perhaps most importantly, seeing your pet once or twice a year allows all of us at Quail Pointe to get to know you both and to develop that all important bond that every vet should share with their patients. The better we know you and understand the unique needs of your four-legged companion, the better we will be able to provide you both with the individualized care and personal attention you deserve.
Don’t make the mistake of waiting until your pet is sick to see the vet. Take advantage of our comprehensive wellness care services and improve the chances of enjoying many happy, healthy years of companionship together.
